Dvara 16 · Enthusiasm

Inspiring others: rouse enthusiasm through devotion, music and example.

Throat centre · Vishuddha chakra · hexagram 16 of the I Ching

The gift

Enthusiasm that turns into skill. It practises and repeats until something is done with real mastery.

The shadow

Enthusiasm without depth; claiming skill before the practice has been done.

Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.

When you carry dvara 16

In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 16 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Throat centre, which governs expression and making things happen, and sits in the Vishuddha chakra.

On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 48. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Throat centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
