Light kept within: protect your inner light when the outside is dark.
Emotion centre · Manipura chakra · hexagram 36 of the I Ching
Emotional depth through experience. It goes through crisis and comes out with compassion.
Turmoil that is courted for its intensity; inexperience that leads to emotional mess.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 36 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Emotion centre, which governs emotions and feeling, and sits in the Manipura chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 35. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Emotion centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.

Hunger for new experiences and the emotional learning that comes from living through them, high and low.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Light kept within: protect your inner light when the outside is dark. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 13 March to 19 March), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 36 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 36 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 36. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
