Dvara 37 · The Family

Integrity at home: let your words have substance and your conduct be consistent.

Emotion centre · Manipura chakra · hexagram 37 of the I Ching

The gift

Warmth that makes a family. It builds bonds through loyalty, care and fair exchange.

The shadow

Loyalty that becomes obligation; bargaining for affection.

Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.

When you carry dvara 37

In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 37 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Emotion centre, which governs emotions and feeling, and sits in the Manipura chakra.

On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 40. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Emotion centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.

Cultivating dvara 37

The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Integrity at home: let your words have substance and your conduct be consistent. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 24 February to 2 March), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 37 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 37 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 37. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
