Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 44
Awareness of influence: notice what arrives in your life and how it acts on you.
Instinct centre · Manipura chakra · hexagram 44 of the I Ching
Alertness to patterns from the past. It senses who and what can be trusted, and brings the right people together.
Fear rooted in old experience; suspicion that keeps good people out.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 44 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Instinct centre, which governs instinct, health and timing, and sits in the Manipura chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 26. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Instinct centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
With dvara 26 · Great Restraint in the Will centre
An instinct for what people want, combined with the will to offer it. Memory of past patterns used to influence.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Awareness of influence: notice what arrives in your life and how it acts on you. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 31 October to 5 November), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 44 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 44 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 44. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
