Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 51
Composure in shock: meet sudden events with self-examination, not panic.
Will centre · Anahata chakra · hexagram 51 of the I Ching
The courage to be shocked and to shock. It jolts people awake and initiates.
Competitiveness and recklessness; shock without purpose.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 51 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Will centre, which governs willpower, self-worth and promises, and sits in the Anahata chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 25. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Will centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
With dvara 25 · Innocence in the Self centre
Shock and courage in service of an open heart. The will to go first, take risks and meet life innocently.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Composure in shock: meet sudden events with self-examination, not panic. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 5 April to 10 April), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 51 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 51 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 51. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
