Channel 39-55 · Emotional Spirit

Moods that provoke and are provoked. Emotional depth and creative melancholy in search of spirit.

Links the Root centre (Muladhara) and the Emotion centre (Manipura)

When the channel is defined

A channel is defined when both of its dvaras are present: dvara 39 (Obstruction) and dvara 55 (Abundance). Then both centres it joins, Root and Emotion, become defined too. In the Dvara Method, defined centres are the stable, consistent parts of a person. The Root centre governs drive, pressure and adrenaline; the Emotion centre governs emotions and feeling.

The shadow side

Moodiness, provoking others and melancholy.

When you carry only one half

If you carry dvara 39 but not 55, or the reverse, the channel is open in you: the energy reaches out for its other half. The missing dvara can arrive through another person, which is one of the strongest kinds of connection between two charts, or through a passing transit, when the channel is defined for a few hours, days or months.

Channel 39-55 between two people

Completing

One of you carries dvara 39 and the other carries dvara 55. Neither has the channel alone; together it exists. This is the classic spark of attraction, and also a place of friction when either of you pulls back.

Shared

Both of you carry the whole channel. You understand each other here easily, and you may also reinforce each other's habits.

Partly shared

One of you carries the whole channel and the other carries one of its dvaras. The one with the full channel tends to set the pattern; the other may feel they have to adapt.

One-sided

Only one of you carries this channel. The other experiences it through them, often strongly, and can learn from it or feel overwhelmed by it.
