Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 39
Turning inward when blocked: use obstacles to build your character.
Root centre · Muladhara chakra · hexagram 39 of the I Ching
Provocation that brings out spirit. It meets obstruction and stirs others to find their own energy.
Provoking for its own sake; restless pressure that annoys rather than awakens.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 39 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Root centre, which governs drive, pressure and adrenaline, and sits in the Muladhara chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 55. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Root centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
With dvara 55 · Abundance in the Emotion centre
Moods that provoke and are provoked. Emotional depth and creative melancholy in search of spirit.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Turning inward when blocked: use obstacles to build your character. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 1 July to 7 July), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 39 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 39 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 39. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
