Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 1
Untiring strength: renew yourself daily, the way heaven keeps moving.
Self centre · Anahata chakra · hexagram 1 of the I Ching
A steady, self-renewing creative force. It wants to bring something original into form and keeps returning to the work, whether or not anyone is watching.
Restlessness and low mood when nothing new is being made; measuring your worth by output.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 1 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Self centre, which governs identity, direction and love, and sits in the Anahata chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 8. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Self centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
With dvara 8 · Holding Together in the Throat centre
Original self-expression made visible. The urge to contribute something uniquely your own and let it stand as an example for others.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Untiring strength: renew yourself daily, the way heaven keeps moving. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 6 November to 11 November), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 1 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 1 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 1. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
