Dvara 2 · The Receptive

Breadth of heart: carry people and circumstances with patient, generous support.

Self centre · Anahata chakra · hexagram 2 of the I Ching

The gift

A receptive knowing of where things want to go. It supports, carries and directs resources without needing to be in front.

The shadow

Giving way so completely that your own direction disappears; dependence on someone else's lead.

Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.

When you carry dvara 2

In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 2 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Self centre, which governs identity, direction and love, and sits in the Anahata chakra.

On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 14. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Self centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.

Channel through dvara 2

Channel 2-14 · Direction and Resources

With dvara 14 · Great Possession in the Life Force centre

An inner sense of direction joined with the energy and resources to move toward it. Steering work and wealth along a personal path.

Cultivating dvara 2

The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Breadth of heart: carry people and circumstances with patient, generous support. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 4 May to 9 May), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 2 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 2 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 2. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
