Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 33
Dignified retreat: keep your distance from pettiness, without anger.
Throat centre · Vishuddha chakra · hexagram 33 of the I Ching
Retreat in order to reflect. It withdraws, digests experience and returns with the lessons.
Withdrawal that becomes isolation; telling the story before it has been understood.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 33 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Throat centre, which governs expression and making things happen, and sits in the Vishuddha chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 13. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Throat centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
With dvara 13 · Fellowship in the Self centre
Listening, remembering, then speaking about what was learned. The keeper of other people's stories and of lessons from the past.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Dignified retreat: keep your distance from pettiness, without anger. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 31 July to 5 August), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 33 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 33 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 33. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
