Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 53
Gradual development: let dignity and good influence grow slowly and surely.
Root centre · Muladhara chakra · hexagram 53 of the I Ching
The pressure to begin new things. It starts cycles of development step by step.
Starting things and not finishing them; pressure to begin before it is time.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 53 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Root centre, which governs drive, pressure and adrenaline, and sits in the Muladhara chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 42. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Root centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
With dvara 42 · Increase in the Life Force centre
Energy for beginning, developing and completing. Maturing by finishing what has been started.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Gradual development: let dignity and good influence grow slowly and surely. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 7 July to 13 July), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 53 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 53 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 53. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
