Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 12
Inner worth when things stall: keep your integrity when nothing moves.
Throat centre · Vishuddha chakra · hexagram 12 of the I Ching
Careful, moving expression. When the mood and timing are right, its words carry real feeling and change people.
Withdrawal and standstill; speaking at the wrong moment, coldly or not at all.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 12 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Throat centre, which governs expression and making things happen, and sits in the Vishuddha chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 22. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Throat centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.
With dvara 22 · Grace in the Emotion centre
Expression that depends on emotional mood. Social grace and impact when the timing feels right, withdrawal when it does not.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Inner worth when things stall: keep your integrity when nothing moves. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 14 June to 19 June), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 12 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 12 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 12. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
