Manvaya Dvara › The 64 dvaras › Dvara 31
Openness: stay receptive and empty enough for others to reach you.
Throat centre · Vishuddha chakra · hexagram 31 of the I Ching
Influence through a voice others want to follow. It leads when it has been invited and recognised.
Wanting to lead without being chosen; influence used for its own sake.
Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.
In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 31 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Throat centre, which governs expression and making things happen, and sits in the Vishuddha chakra.
On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 7. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Throat centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.

Influence through direction. Seeing where a group should go and speaking for it when invited or recognised.
The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Openness: stay receptive and empty enough for others to reach you. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 25 July to 31 July), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 31 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 31 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 31. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
