Dvara 4 · Inexperience

Teachability: stay a willing learner, and act firmly enough to grow your character.

Mind centre · Ajna chakra · hexagram 4 of the I Ching

The gift

A mind that forms answers. It takes doubt and shapes it into explanations, formulas and possible solutions.

The shadow

Clinging to an answer before it has been tested; anxiety when an explanation is missing.

Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.

When you carry dvara 4

In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 4 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Mind centre, which governs thinking and forming concepts, and sits in the Ajna chakra.

On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 63. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Mind centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.

Channel through dvara 4

Channel 4-63 · Questioning Mind

With dvara 63 · After Completion in the Head centre

Doubt turned into answers. A mind that tests ideas against what does not fit and looks for formulas that make sense of things.

Cultivating dvara 4

The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Teachability: stay a willing learner, and act firmly enough to grow your character. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 12 August to 17 August), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 4 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 4 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 4. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
