Dvara 5 · Waiting

Calm confidence while waiting: nourish yourself and stay cheerful until the time is right.

Life Force centre · Svadhisthana chakra · hexagram 5 of the I Ching

The gift

A sense of natural rhythm and right timing. It knows how to wait, and builds steady routines that sustain life.

The shadow

Rigidity about habits; feeling thrown off and irritable when the rhythm is broken.

Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.

When you carry dvara 5

In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 5 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Life Force centre, which governs life force, work energy and fertility, and sits in the Svadhisthana chakra.

On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 15. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Life Force centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.

Channel through dvara 5

Channel 5-15 · Natural Rhythm

With dvara 15 · Modesty in the Self centre

Living by your own timing. Habits and cycles that keep a steady flow, with room for the extremes in other people's rhythms.

Cultivating dvara 5

The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Calm confidence while waiting: nourish yourself and stay cheerful until the time is right. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 4 December to 9 December), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 5 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 5 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 5. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
