Dvara 6 · Conflict

Foresight in disputes: think carefully at the start so conflict never takes root.

Emotion centre · Manipura chakra · hexagram 6 of the I Ching

The gift

Emotional discernment about closeness. It decides who and what to let in, and in doing so keeps relationships healthy.

The shadow

Conflict as a way of testing intimacy; defensiveness, or boundaries that open too fast.

Every dvara has both. Which one shows depends on awareness, circumstances and the people around you, not on the dvara itself.

When you carry dvara 6

In the Dvara Method, if a planet sat in this 5.625° slice of the zodiac at your birth, or about 88 days before it, dvara 6 is part of your chart. It belongs to the Emotion centre, which governs emotions and feeling, and sits in the Manipura chakra.

On its own it is an open dvara: a quality you have access to, but one that reaches for a partner. It completes a channel only when its partner dvara is also present: 59. That partner can come from your own chart, from another person's chart, or from a passing transit. When it does, the Emotion centre becomes defined, and the channel's energy becomes a consistent part of you or of the relationship.

Channel through dvara 6

Channel 6-59 · Intimacy

With dvara 59 · Dispersion in the Life Force centre

Emotional energy that breaks down barriers between people. Closeness, bonding and fertility in the widest sense, with both friction and warmth.

Cultivating dvara 6

The Dvara Method teaches that a dvara you were not born with can still be developed through contemplation. The quality to cultivate here is: Foresight in disputes: think carefully at the start so conflict never takes root. The Sun spends about six days in this dvara each year (around 15 September to 21 September), and the Moon passes through it roughly every 27 days, which makes natural times to practise.

Dvara 6 occupies the same slice of the zodiac as hexagram 6 of the I Ching. If you know the 64 gates from Human Design, it corresponds to gate 6. The Dvara Method is independent and reads it in its own words.
